Gyttorp Centre just outside Nora consists of cool and cosy houses with an exciting interplay of arches, angles, surfaces and colour.
The houses were designed by the architect Ralph Erskine in the ’40s and ’50s and built to house the factory workers at Nitroglycerin AB. The houses have their own style and modern form, unique floor plans and functional details. After an extensive and respectful renovation in the ’90s, Gyttorp Centre was given
the status of state-listed historic building. In 2002, it received an Europa Nostra award. There are two flats typical of that period that you can rent for overnight stays.
